Research and content design are inherently anti-authoritarian. Whether we are advocating for a reader or the priorities of our own internal organization, our jobs often require us to challenge business culture for the sake of improvement.

How do we express dissent without being more adversarial than necessary? How do we speak truth to power when we don’t actually have a whole lot of power? Drawing from extensive work with clients, Erika Hall will empower us to be bold in our thinking, and to use research findings to effect change.

In this session, you’ll learn how to:

  • Plan for more thoughtful research and data collection.
  • Understand your fellow humans as social creatures and pattern-recognition machines.
  • Wield your research findings in responsible, productive, and illuminating ways.

Who will benefit most: This talk will be helpful for folks who struggle to feel heard, or who have some influence within their organizations but want to use it more effectively.
