Confab is an event for people who care about making content better for their users and organizations. And no, you don’t have to be a content strategist to attend! If you plan, design, build, or manage content, Confab is meant for you.

What is content strategy?

Content strategy includes the design, creation, management, and governance of useful, usable content—across websites, apps, bots, newsletters, and everywhere else users experience content.

Each year, Confab draws crowds from around the world, including attendees from more than 30 countries and every state in the US. You’ll meet folks who work at Fortune 500 brands, retailers, nonprofits, government institutions, and agencies of every size. Attendee job titles have included (but are certainly not limited to):

Who runs Confab?

Confab is organized and hosted by Brain Traffic, a leading content strategy consultancy located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Founder and CEO Kristina Halvorson is the author of Content Strategy for the Web and host of The Content Strategy Podcast.

Is there just one conference?

Confab has hosted a variety of events since it first began in 2011, including Confab Central, Confab Intensive, and Confab Higher Ed. In 2018, we decided to pool our resources into making one big Confab to rule them all, which we plan to continue in the coming years. Previous events have included:
