Tackling content engagement metrics

Intensive workshop
Monday, May 18, 2020
1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

Content metrics are always tricky—what kind of data should be your focus, and how can you customize your efforts? Drawing from experiences with the analytics ecosystem at Harvard, this workshop will provide a high-level overview on how tracking works, what is possible, and what makes sense to add to your setup. Moving beyond the fundamentals, we’ll also explore how to translate user behavior into measurable KPIs that align with your business objectives.  You’ll leave this workshop with:

  • Action items on how you can improve the use of web analytics in your organization
  • A better understanding of which metrics are best for measuring content engagement, and common pitfalls to avoid in analysis
  • Tips for optimizing Google Analytics, including customization, code verification, and troubleshooting information

Who should attend: You don’t have to be a technical person to attend; we will go over how to identify who best can help you implement changes, and how to advocate for the proper use of data in your organization.

Prerequisites: Before coming to the workshop, please ensure you have access to your own Google Analytics view.
