Content is at the heart of the user experience for almost any software or application. But working as a content strategist on a product UX team is about more than just writing strings of text.

In this workshop, you’ll get hands-on practice as we create a new (made-up) feature for an existing interface.

You’ll learn how product content strategists work throughout the software development process, collaborating with designers, researchers, product managers, and developers.

We’ll look at examples and try out common content tasks at each stage of the project, including:

  • Planning: Content audits, research, defining terminology and nomenclature
  • Exploration: Mapping journeys, defining content elements, and working with designers on initial UX
  • Building: Refining content, user testing, collaborating with developers, and assisting with internationalization and accessibility
  • Launch: Helping with QA and monitoring key metrics


Who should attend: This session is suited for UX writers, content designers, and people who are interested in working on content for apps and interfaces.

Prerequisites: Experience with core elements of content strategy and usability will be helpful.
